Onward Christians Soldiers!

"...I'm overcome and broken at the wonders of Your hand!" So I'm listening to Jars right now. "Light of the world are You still here? And are we illuminating?" When everything would fight to take His throne in my heart, exhausted from the battle with sin that ensues each day I stop and think of what Paul says in Ephesians 6:10, "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, so that your will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil." I need to take a thousand more glimpses at Christ! "For the least glimpse of Him is exceedingly refreshing to my spiritual sense and yields a variety of delights." Seriously! Get the mud pies out of my face! I'm one of the many who are far too easily pleased! Praise God for His Spirit in me that has put eternity in my heart so that nothing this side of heaven satisfies more than Him. "You who dwell in glory, the heavens are Your home. You began the story and made Your beauty known. You created nothing that gives me more pleasure than You, and You won't give me something that gives me more pleasure than You!" I'm so grateful to God for the servants He has used to pierce my heart while preaching His word. Rick Holland is one of them. I'll never forget when he preached through Ecclesiastes. The last couple of verses from that book were ingrained in my mind, "The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person. For God will bring every act to judgement, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil." The psalmist in Psalm 119:5 said it well, "O that my ways were directed to keep Your statutes!"
