Wow! I remember when my friend would ask me questions like, "What kind of guy do you see me with?" and when she'd make statements like, "Maybe the Lord wants me to remain single for the rest of my life?" The mere fact that she was asking me what kind of guy I saw her with told me that she had a desire to be married, to be someone's helper. She will be just that because the Lord blessed her with a sweet and godly man of God. This year has been filled with many blessed unions of different friends from church. I went to my last wedding for the year on the 11th of this month!
Being in my friend's wedding was a unique and special privilege because we were witnesses. Being a bridesmaid is a huge responsibility! Not only is one affirming the union of two special friends, but it also brings with it the responsibility of praying for the couple that God has united in holy matrimony. And there's so much more to marriage than the ceremony too! It is a beautiful picture of God's promise to us made through the holy sacrifice of His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. He is the beautiful invisible but priceless ring we wear until our dying day! I am so happy for my dear friend and I do pray that God will be their strength and shield, that He would be their trust even through times of "drought."
I'll catch up with you all some more later. God bless you all my friends!

What a good post. Thanks, Marcella! I had one of those conversations on singleness with a friend this summer. Always interesting.
Please tell us what's gone on since this post.
