just wonderful...

Hi all! Thought I'd fill you in on the weekend... Alan flew in on Thursday at 9:15 p.m. and we had a wonderful dinner on Friday evening at Raymond's in Pasadena. The ambiance was just as romantic as it can get, and the food was absolutely delicious. Saturday we went to beautiful Santa Barbara. God gave us a gorgeous day! We got to enjoy brunch together at a local restaurant. We walked around, visited some shops, and then stopped in at a local jewelry shop.

We looked at engagement rings. Yes, you read that correctly! Please be praying with and for us as we desire to be married towards the end of April.

Okay...So Sunday we went to church, had lunch with Tim & Norma (our friends who reconnected us), and had a blast reminiscing about how everything came to be. Sunday evening we had dinner with a couple who I know are going to be a great source of mutual encouragement in the years to come. We went to Il Fornaio in Pasadena and then had dessert (yummy Strawberry Shortcake), at their house afterwards. We played a round of Taboo, ended up tied, prayed together and ended the evening.

Monday morning, his mom prepared us a nice breakfast and then we were off for a beautiful drive to the Palos Verdes area. We had lunch at Rockfish in Manhattan Beach, walked on the pier, watched the sun begin to set, and then headed home when it became too cold.

We talked about making our plans always with this in mind, "If the Lord wills, we will live and also do this or that" (James 4:15). So we're planning a very small wedding. Pray that all the details will come together smoothly, and that we commit all our plans to the Lord seeking to glorify him in all things. "Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us,But to Your name give glory, Because of Your mercy, Because of Your truth" (Psalm 115:1).

The details of his swap from Miami back to L.A. are still in the air (of course we know God is in control), nevertheless we covet your prayers for that as well.
